Not confident enough to explore my pc especially when some problems suddenly pop out. I feel anxious that I find it hard to move my mouse.

Need some basics to overcome my virus anxiety to not panic with the confusion it brings.

A few days ago, while doing my work on my laptop, I suddenly heard a beep and my mouse arrows won't move anymore. I tried pressing ctrl, alt, delete as I used to do which a friend of mine taught me to restart my pc; but this time it's not working anymore. So I have to hard press the on/off button (i'm not sure what it's called but the one you press when opening the laptop). And it keeps on happening since then. I'm starting to feel a bit paranoid and anxious that I might lost my data if this will keep on happening.

Hi felicityblue, apart from showing 32bit as your operating system - we know nothing about your Windows version. e.g. W10, W7?
You say it has happened on your laptop. Are you using the Touchpad or a mouse?
If you are using the Touchpad, I would suggest you get/purchase a Windows wireless mouse which has a USB Dongle which you plug in to a USB port on your laptop.
Windows will recognize this very easily and then you should be able to use your laptop.
Let's know how this works and we can advise further about your problem if it still is a worry.

got W8... using a mouse... finding it hard to use my touchpad don't always work.

I don't know what got into me... reached the point that I am shouting with the slight disturbance because of my anxiety and nervousness... deadline is coming near. My sister told me to relax and try to talk to a therapist to calm my senses. She is consulting a therapist for her panic attack and it seems to help her quite effectively.

There is an option in Control Panel > Mouse > Disable internal pointing device when external USB pointing device is attached.
Have you tried this option to see if the mouse works properly?
