I am looking at getting some shoes from a site that is NOT https, and even when I go to the login page, it stays http. I went to one scam site that warned that the site has only been up for a year or so: I just checked if rexdentalpractice.co.uk is trustworthy on scamadviser.com. I get the same lack of secure site info in Firefox or Vivaldi.

The site itself (which I'm wondering if it is a scam) is Vans Realm Classic Summer Backpack | Women's Accessories #RVE566 : Buy Summer T-Shirts & Tank Tops - Cheap Online, Classic Denim High,Leather High,T-Shirts,Technical Fleece,Sneakers,Slides,Classic High,Classic Leather,Walkshorts,Sweatshirts

Do UK websites handle security differently than in the USA? I wouldn't think so, but I thought I'd ask here...

WOT shows no rating yet. If you go to Checkout on the site - does it change to htpps: ?

No, but I see a line drawn through the padlock in the URL bar, just to the left of the URL itself.

This site is not secure, I would never, ever order from a site where their order form is not secured!

OK, it was the only place where someone found the back to school backpack that they wanted. But I'll nix this.

I was just wondering if perhaps UK sites had different ways of marking sites as secure. I think it was a longshot, but I figured I'd throw it out there. :)

A line through the padlock would suggest to me that it is not secure!

There is no other way then using https with a security certificate.
