For no apparent reason, my PC stopped file transmission to my phone. After trying to sort it, I eventually unpaired the phone, rebooted the PC and tried to pair it again. Now I can't even get it paired.

If I add the device from the PC, I get a message that it is being set up and it shows in device manager but they are not paired and don't communicate.

If I try and pair it from my phone I get a prompt to confirm the passkey but nothing shows up on the PC. If I click OK anyway on the phone, it shows as connection failed.

If I try and connect it from the PC, it scans for the device but never finds it.

I have connected other devices OK and tried the bluetooth adaptor in another computer where it functions as intended so it is not a hardware issue but something is blocking it.

I have made the connection on another computer using the same phone and bluetooth adaptor so it would not appear to be a hardware issue or anything with the phone.

    Any suggestions?

Further to my last post, I think I have solved the problem in that I had uninstalled it in device manager but it was still showing in devices and printers. It got sorted when I removed it from there as well.

On last question, I now have two items showing on options on the PC as paired devices for my phone when I want to send a file. Is there a way to get rid of the extraneous one?

    Hi boutells,
    Where does 'options' appear?
In Settings in W10 you have Devices and Printers and also Phone.
    Which one are you using?

When I go to send a file bu bluetooth, the phone appears twice in the list of paired devices.

Is this the process you followed to transfer and receive by Bluetooth?
