Resolved Windows 10 fan constantly rev'ing up and down

I have a new Windows 10 gaming machine I had built for me back in July. It's working great except for the fan is constantly rev'ing up and down, but I'm not doing any intensive tasks. I didn't have this problem in my previous Windows 7 machine or even my Windows XP machine.

There's nothing in the task manager that is really being pegged, cpu-wise, when this happens, we're talking Firefox goes up to maybe 3%, for example.

I have:

• AMD Ryzen 5 1600 six core processor (no huge spikes there when fan ramps up)
• 16 gb of ram (currently 18% of that is being used via the task manager)

No networks spikes or anything, I get the fan speed variation doing simple things like following a hyperlink in a browser. I also turned off pretty much everything in privacy and notifications just to eliminate any unwanted network traffic going on in the background.

I did some googling and some people have had the problem with multiple video card drivers installed, but via device manager I only see my GeForce GTX 1080 under display adapters.

Anyone have any ideas how I can normalize my fan, the constant rev'ing up and down is really annoying.

 

Are you sure that it isn't full of dust bunnies? That would be my first thought.

 

I believe it's the CPU fan.

Via Speccy, the CPU (all cores) is spiking from 28C (low fan) to 36-39C (rev'ed up fan) when I do simple web browsing. CPU fan speed is going from 1700 to 1800 on the spikes (1702-1809, for an exact example).

Cooling fans do usually speed up and slow down on High end comps. If you can hear this and it is an annoying noise increase, I would venture to say the fan/s need to be replaced under warranty.
I've had CPU fans go noisy and the answer was to renew the fan with a better (quieter) one.

This should indicate whats happening.

From my previous post, my fan is going from pretty much 30c to 40c, does that mean I should adjust the fan curve like so? Maybe move the #2 ball up to about 45c so it's a little more curvy?

 

My curves were a little different than the screenshots from the manual.

Going to have to call this solved. While my PC runs a little louder now, I don't have the annoying rev'ing up and down. I adjusted the lower two balls as illustrated in my previous screenshot a couple times, I think this is as good as it's going to get. I might buy a new CPU fan in the future and try swapping it in just to give that a go. The PC seems to run louder than I would think, but maybe that's just how it is for my specs.
