Resolved Printer install question

Win 10 I have a print.copy/scan hooked up with a usb cable on desktop. Can I hook it up to work Wireless on another pc??

 

Well, you didn't tell us anything about the printer so no way of telling. You likely could if you configured your desktop to "share" the printer. But that is not ideal as it then requires the desktop to be up and running for other computers to print to it. And sharing introduces other security issues too.

If this printing device is network ready/capable, then I would urge you to connect it to your network (router) instead of your desktop. Many routers have a USB port just for this. Or you may be able to connect the printer to your router and network via Ethernet cable or via wireless to make it a networked printer.

With a networked printer, everyone on your network can use the printer independently. No need for sharing. No need to have the printer tethered to a computer. No need to have a "host" computer up and running for others to print. And the printer can be centrally located and off your desk.

Check your printer manual. If not network ready, consider using a print server.

As Bill has stated, please advise Make and Model of your printer. I take it from your description your printer is a MFP (multifunction printer) but it may not be WiFi capable.

 

It may not be WiFi capable but it still could still be networkable via Ethernet or USB. But again, that depends on the specific model.
