Hi there. I have the very latest version of Windows 10, on a relatively new ASUS Laptop. Within the last few weeks, something weird started happening.

You know how you right-click an icon on your desktop, or anywhere for that matter, and a menu for that icon pops up? Such as allowing you to open that file as "Open with..." etc.? Well, when I right click any file (Word documents, images, etc.), no menu pops up. Instead, the Desktop "refreshes". The whole desktop "blinks", in a weird way, and nothing happens.

Not sure how to solve this. I've done all the virus scanning and anti-spyware I can do.

    Thanks in advance!

    Have you rebooted the computer?

Of course. Scores of times. I said "within the last few weeks". This is a glitch in the system. There has to be a bug fix.

Well, some of us don't reboot till it is necessary is why I asked. About the only time that I reboot is when I am asked to. Have went weeks without reboot before.

Connect an external mouse and see what happens when you right-click.

I only use a mouse with my laptop. When I right-click on any icon on my desktop, no menu pops up. The desktop just blinks (or refreshes).
