I bought a 1 TB Toshiba Desktop Internal Hard Drive to test restoring my wife's computer using an image created in Macrium Reflect. Wanted to do this in advance of installing Windows 10 Creator over a Windows 10 Pro that won't find updates (a thread in Windows 10). I was able to restore successfully and now I have the Toshiba with a copy my wife's system. I would like to test it on another system but I'm unsure how to clean off what is on there now.

Most of what I found via Googling assumes one wants to reinstall the operating system which I don't want to do. Similar results on the Toshiba site. I do have a USB 3.0 enclosure which I can use to do the cleaning/wiping - I'm just not sure how to proceed.

Simply install it in your enclosure. Then in File Explorer find the drive, right click on it, and select Format. Since you are not getting rid of this drive, you do not need to "wipe" it, nor do you need to do a full format. A "Quick format" will be fine.

Thanks Bill. I was hoping to hear it was as simple as that.
