If you are going to "Sleep it" - why "power off for the night"?
I cannot reproduce your problem even with my SSD running W10 Pro 64bit Insider Preview version 1703 OS build 16232.1000.
My SSD with W10 Pro 64bit version 1703 OS build 15063.413 works OK putting comp to sleep using KB button and leaving for 7 hours. It wakes when spacebar is pressed or mouse activated with all icons in place as normal.:(o_O
There must be some program/software that is waking your comp.:oops:

I sleep then power off at night mainly to "save" energy. The wife who is anal about "unnecessary" power consumption (mine, not hers' as she pays the power bill) chides me for leaving the PC on all night, as the power panel has the indicator lights on. Besides now, it won't stay asleep.
If there is some app or Win 10 function waking the PC from sleep in less than a minute, so far no sleuthing has clued me (or anyone) to what.

My PC is an older Gigabyte MB, 250gb SSD and Win 10 32 bit, even though everything else is 64 bit. I bought the wrong Win 10 upgrade to go from Win 7 and did not realize it for over a year till I tried to install a 64 bit only app. Upgrading to 64b will cost me some legacy apps that I cannot re-install, as well as several days of headaches doing it just to get back to where I was. This was clearly spelled out to me in another thread as well with MS on a chat.

OK, Last night I slept the PC and powered off immediately.
This AM it quickly came up fully intact, all open apps were there as I left them. Icons in place.

It normally takes about 90 seconds from when the BIOS completes to a functional desktop after a normal shutdown/cold boot.
Add the time to load and set the 2 or 3 apps I have on full time, and it is about 5 minutes before I can get into my mail, etc.
Waking from a poweroff sleep takes less than 20 seconds, ready to roll.

So that part is now (seemingly) OK.
What remains is why it wakes 10 to 30 seconds after I hit the sleep button.

Like I said several times, it all worked OK PRIOR to the Win big update a few weeks back.

Later this morning I walked away from the PC. I came back about 30 minutes later and the 2 screens were black, but the CPU was active. (timeout is 20 min).
Then as I was about to sit down, the CPU went to sleep (timeout 30 min) and all seemed well. I hit the spacebar and it came awake normally.
Yet if I sleep it manually, it still wakes up 10-30 seconds later.

Without going back to prior Posts, What are your Buttons set to in Power Options > Choose what the Power Buttons do?

Screens off in 20 minutes. Sleep after 30 minutes. It used to be 30 and 60.
Power plan is now Balanced, was High Perf. It seems more stable now.

Hi JGB, When you open Control Panel > Power Options > on the left of the page > Choose what the Power Buttons do > click on this and another page will open - this is what I referred to earlier.
My comp that I put to sleep at 7.00pm last evening, woke up when mouse was activated at 11am today (16 hours sleep) and after logging in my Password it was fully functional with all icons in place - NO problems.
My Power plan is Balanced and buttons as per Post #26.

Power button is "shut down". Sleep button is "sleep".
I presume the power button is on the CPU box and the sleep button is on my keyboard.
Also Shutdown settings are "turn on fast startup, "sleep" show in power menu. "Hibernate" and "Lock" are unchecked.
Again, none of those have changed for a long time.

Update: So far when I sleep (KB button) it still awakes 10 - 30 seconds later.
If I power off while it is asleep, and then power on later, it comes up all normal. Apps still where I left them and icons in place.
I will try a shutdown later today.

Does a double press on the sleep button have any effect?

    Tried that!!
It went to sleep. Stayed asleep for over a full minute, longer than usual.
Then the CPU came up, well only the fan was on. The CPU and HD lights were off, screens black.
No key pressing or button pushing of any would wake it.
Had to power off/20 sec/power on. And it came up as It was when I pressed the KB sleep button.

Last night I did a clean shutdown and power off. Today it came up normal, icons in place. The only major change (last week) was going to a balanced power plan from the high performance.

So perhaps the icon scrambling is seemingly fixed. Just why the PC has insomnia remains the question.

For the first attachment I had done pretty much all it suggested.
But one reply to it said to open the Task Scheduler and uncheck "UpdateOrchestrator" triggers. I just did that.

Your second attachment said to Disable "magic packet" on my IDE controller. I just did that. And "pattern match" as well.
I also went through every item in the Device Manager and made sure every item, except keyboard and mouse, was unchecked for wake from sleep.
None were checked, except for keyboard and mouse.

    Let's see if this works.

And.... it didn't. Hit sleep button, and sometime within my 20 minutes away it just woke up. CPU light and fan was on, HD light and monitors off.

    Thanks; Interesting read.
On my PC power settings I only have "sleep" as an option, no "hibernate".
Last night I slept it with 3 apps minimized and powered-off. This morning it booted normal and desktop intact.
Then later I had to leave the PC for about a 1/2 hour. I just walked away.

When I came back, surprise, it was fully asleep. All lights off, fan off and monitors black. Like you would expect.
But before I had the chance to wake it, the CPU lights up, HDD light on and fan on. Monitors still black.
After about 5 seconds the HDD goes out and it remained in the CPU on, fan on all else off state.
Pressing the spacebar woke it up normal.

Something is causing it to spontaneously partially awake. Nothing shows in powercfg.
I'm wondering if some app notification might be the cause. I had turned off a few I don't use like Cortana, but many of the others I am not sure if I should.

Just a silly thought - are vibrations causing your KB or mouse to activate wake mode?

Interesting thought. I doubt it as my solid desk is on a concrete basement floor, but I will test this later.
The KB needs a 2-3 second press on any key (I use the spacebar) and the mouse needs to move at least 4 inches to wake the PC.

Try leaving the mouse on the desk upside down and on something that will absorb vibration - just a thought :)

Being wireless KB & mouse, I moved them 20 ft away, put them on a pillow, and....... PC woke up after sleep. Not sure how long after the sleep started, but not more than 35 minutes.
