No, I don't delay updates, and from what I understand, now that this update is in place and I'm running Win10 Home I don't have any choice.

Even more peculiar, I have two other Win10 systems in the house and they have not received this update either. As I speak, I just went to shut down my laptop and it did an update but not 1703.

Leaving out the details, it took me all morning to get my network printer to work with its management software because Microsoft got in between the HP software and the printer and the HP software failed each time it tried to discover the printer, even though the HP discovery found the IP. I also had to reinstall the video driver (NVIDIA) to get its features back.

    Yes you are correct.

You should run the registry tweak in option 4 in this link to prevent Windows 10 from automatically updating your device drivers, How to Enable or Disable Including Driver Updates in Windows Update in Windows 10.

There have been many users who are using Windows 10 and having driver updates automatically install, has led to many computers not working correctly because of Windows Update installing incorrect versions of drivers that previously were working fine. So hopefully in your case, your hardware devices are still functioning after upgrading to build 1703.

Wow, thank you. I feel like I've dodged a bullet that hasn't been fired yet :)

I am running an unsupported video driver and that is why it got hosed when the update occured. The current driver works with no problems but it isn't compatible with some gaming applications from what I read. I don't use my computers for games any more.

    KUDOS !

Control Panel is in Windows System. Left click Start > scroll down the Menu > Windows System > Control Panel > Right click on Icon > More > Pin to Taskbar. This gives me quicker access to it.

    I know, I'm picky.

I found it in Windows System and I also Searched it too. When it comes up in the Search you can do the same thing, pin it to the task bar.

My task bar is pretty busy already and "pinning it to the Start" bar is where you described it is already thanks to Microsoft.

I found a program which I took a chance on called WinXEditor. I downloaded the zip and ran it after unzipping it and it lets you put any app wherever you want once you figure out the Group locations.

So I put 'Control Panel' back where it used to be.

    Thanks for the response though.
