On opening Windows Mail Inbox, suddenly now appears a box containing what appears as programming language symbols and letters. Moving the mouse cursor over the mail contents shows different symbols. Is this a Microsoft error or my computer is at fault?

Does all the mail in your inbox look that way or just one mail?

All Inbox mail are affected. Very hard to read mail content, as moving cursor on any part of the mail raises the pop up box showing language symbols.

Observation shows that error started immediately after latest Windows 10 update on the 9th November 2016.

Suggest you uninstall KB3200970 from 9 Nov and see if the issue is resolved. Naturally Windows will reinstall it in due course - the original download may have been corrupted.

Pete, thanks for your suggestion, which was carried out. At present only the BBS E-mail is current, it appears to be free of the error. Will wait until KB3200970 is reinstalled by Microsoft to see if the error returns. Thanks Bobby.

My E-mails can be opened in either Virginmedia or Win 10 Mail or both. Error is only in Win10 Mail. Error returned as soon as Microsoft reinstalled KB3200970.

The update may have toggled the language or character encodings to something else.

Probably this is what is happening, but how can it be rectified? Virginmedia own E-mail reader is not affected with these Popups.

You read e-mail on Virginmedia server, not downloaded on your PC.
