W10 defender wants to scan my system every time i log on.

If i log on 5 times in a day, defender wants do do a scan. It does not
matter if i go to the internet or not, still wants to scan.

Is this normal opns? Defender never finds anything wrong.

    thanks,

It is definitely not normal. I am glad you sorted it out but note you should not have to mess with Task Scheduler either. I note this problem often occurs if you have a program like CCleaner and you changed CCleaner to run with Windows and delete logs each time. If WD does not have a log showing when it was last scanned, it will assume no scan has been run and will assume a new scan is needed. In CCleaner, you can remove WD from cleaning by unchecking WD under the Cleaner > Applications tab.

Some anti-malware programs also purge systems of logs. Do you have any other security apps running besides WD?

Yes, I run ccleaner and atf cleaner almost daily. I suspect both of these cleans w10 logs..

Good info there, i didn't know the relationship, thanks..
