Resolved Windows anniversary update 1607 is it Auto?

    Still not received the Auto update 1607 or seen the offer on my monitor to install. I am made to believe that MS are updating in batches, if this be correct, my waiting till the last day of the free version maybe the reason why for the delay.

    As has been stated before MS is rolling out the update over a period of weeks -
    As has also been posted before in one of your threads the Anniversary Update is available on demand ....

    Thanks for your response. I was able to download from MS website. Taking over two hours to install. I find it has completely changed all the previous Windows 10 settings and over all, not impressed. I can not reconfigure the start up screen not to show a picture or indeed my picture under "Welcome" has been omitted. Up date says no changes will be made to current settings.

    Bear in mind that the Anniversary Update is a complete re-install of Windows 10 - that's the way MS deal with major updates in Windows 10, known as Service Packs in previous OS's.although these did not make a fresh install.

    That is par for the course - I found the same on installing the Anniversary Update. Just select the image that you want to use as you did with the previous version, see .....
