It's been 3 years since I asked this question in the XP forum about clearing the unwanted Telnet address from the RUN box. I now have a Windows 7 computer and want to do the same thing as I did in XP. However in Win 7 if I follow the instructions above when I get to step #3 I don't have the Advanced tab or Clear button. Hovering over the address and clicking Delete does not clear it either. Can anyone help?

What resolved the problem? Was it in the registry: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RunMRU

    The solution:
    Right click Taskbar
    Properties
    Start Menu
    Under Privacy uncheck both. OK
This clears everything in the Start Menu and in the Run box.
