    Hi T.
Thanks for the reply..I think I have my system updated OK now ???
I'm running windows 10..D&D works in all places I've tried except the desktop(It did work there until about a week ago)
Nothing can be dragged there, I've tried most everything I can find, but no joy.

I assume you tried suggestions I made in my first post.

You have Windows 7 OS in your system specs - I guess you are running Internet Explorer 10

You could do a system restore to a date before you lost drag and drop.

Please open an email with a photo attachment and attempt to drag the photo to the desktop. What happens?

There are lots of answers here https://www.google.com.au/search?q=...com.microsoft:en-US&rlz=1I7GGIT_en&gws_rd=ssl

    kind regards,

Hi ramjet, It would help us if you verified whether you are in fact running MS IE 10 or Windows Preview W10 OS.
Moving Icons on the Desktop using my W10 Preview works OK for me. I think you will find that IE 11 is the browser used in both W8.1 and W10 Preview unless the user has downgraded it. Neil.

    Hi T.,
Yes, I did try your suggestion..no joy.
I had tried a lot of fixes in the HTTPS you supplied before I posted here.

I am not running IE 10 but google chrome and a picture could
not be dragged from email to desktop.(cannot drag anything
    on or from the desktop).
I didn't have a restore or BU Image dated before this problem started.
    Thanks

    Drag & Drop Don't Work

    Hi Neil,
I am running Windows 10 enterprise tech. preview and not using IE 11 but google chrome.
The Drag & Drop did work but there must have been a upgrade
or somthing that sropped it(No new apps installed by me and have run all virus checks).
    Thanks for your reply.

What version of Google Chrome are you running? It should at least be version 32.0.1700.102 m, however the latest version is 40.0.2214.111. Suggest you update Chrome and then test if your drag and drop works.

Some research tells me Google have discontinued drag and drop, however surely that could not be correct as so many use it.

I am running the latest version and drag and drop certainly works for me

As an alternative if drag and drop does not work with the latest version, you can download the beta version and see if that works. https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/beta.html

Sorry I can't be of more assistance.

    kind regards,

    Hi T.,
Thanks for your effort..I am running the latest version and I will try the beta, but why is the browser important when it's the desktop I'm having problems with(just dragging a icon around)? BTW, when you get a chance would you look at my
computer info..I've entered it for the second time..Info did
not save the 1st time..Mr CPU is AMD 8350.
    Thanks,
    JerryB

I checked your system specs drop down menu and the Processor is listed.

Hi ramjet, Yes your System Details show OK now. Have you sent Feedback about your problem to MS. This will be the quickest way to get an answer.
I had a problem with card games not loading after an update and sent feedback which many others had done about the same problem. Neil.
