I am using FF27.0.1 When I want to send a link of a page I am viewing to someone, FF brings up my yahoo email as a default for this. I have been trying to change it to outlook.com now for two days and no luck. I can not get it listed as a choice in options> application>mailto. I have a choice of yahoo, I use on occasion for emailing, WLM that I do not use or even have set up, and gmail that is not set up. When I try "use other" in the mailto list, a dialog pops up, at the top it says "select application helper" body is blank, bottom of dialog box says "no applications found for this file type" WLM would likely work, but I don't like WLM.

I have looked in Program Default, but it is not even on the list.
Yes I can CCP and put in outlook.com, but it would be nice if it would come up as my default email when I want to forward a page using FF.
I searched FF add ons for outlook.com and nothing came up. I am out of ideas. I thought because outlook.com is web based that's why I could not get it into the mailto list, but my yahoo email is web based.....

    Dell insprion 3521 Windows-7/64 premium

    Thanks Gary

Hi gary7, I use FF and TB and in TB > Options > Account Settings > Outgoing Server > Add.

I don't know whether this is the option you are referring to - to enable another email account. Neil.

Did you try the "Use Other" option?

what do you mean "no help "? did you try the solution offered by jscher2000 in the link i provided. did you try and it didn't work or you didn't try? earlier i just posted the link, tonight i set up a test profile in firefox and performed the solution in the link. it works for me. it adds Use Live Mail to the applications list for mailto. Live Mail is not Windows Live Mail, it is the name MSN uses for Outlook.com.
