The whole eastern seaboard is getting it now.

The governor declared a state of emergency for NC. We have at least 6 inches on the ground, now, with more sleet, snow and some freezing rain on the way. Western Virginia is getting hammered from the snow maps I saw.

... I'm tired of winter, and here in Alabama we don't have half the nasty crud to put up with that some of you do.

My principle mental health hobby is motorcycling and I'm counting the days until an overnight trip will be my cure for wintertime PMS.

I didn't think Alabamians had to deal with the winter-time blues that much. Considering how humid it gets down there, I figured winter time was a vacation of sorts. :D

Maybe not so much this year.

To those of us in the snow belt of NY the coldest day in Alabama would be like a warm spring day and time to get the bikes out as long as the salt and sand was washed off the roads. I just finished shoveling the 18" of white stuff from yesterdays dumping and look forward to the 18" expected to fall by tomorrow night. The wind gusts are picking up again to over 30 m.p.h. and wind chill going below zero. Visibility yesterday was limited to the front edge of my truck's hood.

LOL. Hey, I admit I'm a weather wuss.

No doubt location and the conditioning that accompanies it are a huge factor. But looking back on it I have never really thrived on cold weather.

Not that it matters, but y'all can have the 18" snowfalls and salty roads with my blessing!
