    Sorry I didn't word that right. A number of years ago I got infected when I downloaded and installed something from filehippo. I'm sure it's a lot better now.

    A lot of times when File Hippo discovers an available update, more often than not, I'll use the installed program's update tool instead of downloading the entire file from File Hippo. (Avast antivirus and Firefox are good examples) However, that doesn't work for programs like CCleaner, WinPatrol, etc., where I have to download the entire installer.

    Wouldn't it be easier to let Windows do the updateing?

    Then you would have the latest update.

    The lates update is - Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3555.0308)

    You mean, updating from within Live Mail? I don't think it offers that option. At least I couldn't find it.

    Windows / Microsoft Update *may* offer it, but I am not sure.

    The update worked on Windows 7, but nothing was available for XP.

    Live Mail is compatible with XP, but the update is not.
