I am using WIN7 OS.I have 10 pcs on LAN and a Dlink Wireless router.
I want to restrict some particular type of sites on my LAN.I put open DNS IP's on the router. But it can be bypassed by changing the DNS on PC.The message sent to me by openDNS is below.

Please suggest the best possible option.

What dlink router do you have? What firewall are you using?

If it's only a limited number of sites you should be able to block them by IP/URL without resorting to using opendns for all dns lookups.

First off, prohibiting access must be done using a site by site method, you cannot block "types" of sites.

There are several things you can do:

    1. use a Hosts file on a pc to route domains and ip addresses to localhost, in essence blocking access to specific sites.

    2. use policies on a pc to prevent users from changing network settings:
run > gpedit.msc > User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Network > Network Connection > prohibit access to the LAN properties.
