Resolved Paragon information.

    I have forwarded several enquiries to Paragon relating to System Backup 11, failed to receive any confirmation to date. Has anyone who use Paragon titles been able to contact them?

    I've never used their software, however, they have a toll-free number at: 1-888-347-5462, but I see you are from the UK.

    Pardon my ignorance, but is it possible for people living outside the USA to call these toll-free numbers?

    Thank you for reply. A very good question, most probably free call within the USA. Paragon is the very first software company who have continually ignored my request for assistance. Now not impressed with their software title System Backup 11 and probably I am the only computer user stupid enough to have bought from them, they are certainly not customer friendly.

    I have referred to the manual and knowledge base for an answer as to why an automatic backup does not happen, no reference to this is made or help to remedy. The Forum, unfortunately is not the same class as our BBS, no reply has not been received to my posts.

    Wow, don't believe I've ever seen someone have so much trouble with backup software. (Windows backup, then Acronis and now Paragon?).

    Here are some others that are popular, free and easy-to-use:
    • AOMEI Backupper (free) has a simple, straightforward interface. Choose the drive or partition to back up, the destination drive, and a click later Backupper will be creating an image for you.

    • Macrium Reflect Free is a great choice for anyone who wants a simple but reliable image backup tool . . . including a capable scheduler.

    • EaseUS Todo Backup Free is another popular, and easy-to-use choice.

    SpywareDr, well some people were born unlucky and I am no exception. I believe if you follow the instructions given all should work accordingly, in my case not so. Regarding Microsoft Windows 7 64 bits backup, it just stopped functioning without any help from me. Trouble is, persons who write the manual know exactly how the software works and in turn they expect us not so knowledgeable consumers to know exactly what is written in the manual.
    Thank you for other backup titles: EaseUs to do backups, clicking backup shows in German language.
    Mancrium Reflect backup can only be carried out with the paid up version, or is my luck out once again?

    What drive are backing up to. According to the manual Windows 7 may have a MSR(Microsoft System Reserved), a special hidden partition that contains boot critical files, so to make Windows 7 start up after restore, so don't forget to back up this partition as well. This program sound interesting but I just back up everything to a WD My Passport external hard drive. Did you follow the manual directions.

    I think that I found one of the suggested Backup software AOMEI Backupper. It seems really friendly and easy to follow the Iinstructions, to be honest the best so far. The backup drive appears to be selected by the program, perhaps I have missed this step. I remember a member of BBS saying to be on guard with freeware software, will certainly give this software a thorough try out.
    My thanks to SpywareDr for suggesting this software.
    Ij50, will look into your suggestion.

    Lj50, thank you for entry, I have a hard print copy to hand, unfortunately it does not show an answer, trouble shoot on failure with automatic backup or how to solve it. Most probably I am the only member who uses Paragon System 11, and certainly number one who fails to obtain a response from Paragon.

    Finally, I have ditched Paragon systems 11, more trouble than it is worth. Captions keep popping up, informing me it is a long time since an automatic backup has been performed - well it does not rectify error or does Paragon answer any help request. Reading Paragon manual, it does point out that on first installation that you only have one opportunity, page 6 manual.
    Another software title to keep well away from, MyPCbackups it messes the computer workings and most difficult to erase, other than remove all contents from the Registry. Receive many e-mails from MyPCbackups writers of this software to purchase.

    I had problems getting help from Iolo the manufacturer of System Mechanic Pro. Couldn't delete a file from the Incinerator Bin. Tried to get help numerous times and never received a response. Just gave up and will never order a product of theirs again.

    This practise of help from software writers to ignore pleas of help is quite common now days, either the writers do not know the answer or simply just ignore as they have your money, paid up software appear to be the worse in ignoring people. I agree entirely with you Ij50 just ignore them when it comes to updates. My list in this category are Acronis and certainly Paragon who charge $199 to answer queries.
