Where can I find a three HD bay for 3 1/2" HDs? In other words, where is an on line site for parts to build a PC? I already have the SATA connections and power supply for the three HDs. The case has the connections and screw hole for the bay.

I would start on the case manufacturer's web site - the bay is bound to be specific to the case.

Did that. Also perused PC parts sites and did not find anything specific for a HD bay. Thank you.

Thank you for your help. I appreciate the quality assistance I receive here.

I must say: I called HP and asked the same question, hoping they were the best location for the new bay. I have called HP many times, always hoping they could help solve a problem. Well, their Customer Service is actually not service oriented and as usual, they transferred me in a circle twice. I finally quit trying. HP has the worst Customer Service of any I have ever called. By the way, Norton/Semantic is the best.

I decided to purchase a larger HD to solve the problem.

The quality of an answer often depends on the quality of the question. ;)

I think you need to define your requirements better. Typically, a HD "bay" is defined as the area inside a PC case where the hard drive, or hard drives are installed. It sounds like you are looking for an "external enclosure" the supports 3 drives - where the enclosure has 3 bays. Not using the standard terminology may have the reason you could not find what you were looking for.

That said, I can find lots of 2-bay and 4-bay enclosures, but not 3.

As for parts, I buy most of my parts from Newegg, but also buy from Tiger Direct, and Amazon.

    That will work too. ;)

I did the same thing but note most of the images are for bays that are installed internally into a case or equipment rack. I don't see any external 3-bay enclosures there.

I believe my vocabulary is spot on. A MS Tech gave me the confidence to ask for a "Bay," as it holds the internal HDs.

Because HP is so contrary, I may build a 3 bay by bending some sheet metal. It looks straight forward.

That may be, but, in order to find what you're looking for using Google, you end up with more hits using "cage" rather than "bay ".

    Sounds like a plan. :)
