Not sure what you mean by hand out stickers, or "no longer ". I recently bought several copies of SystemBuilder/OEM W8 for some new builds and inside each box is a sticker with specific instructions to apply the COA label to the computer chassis before delivery of the computer to the customer. That's the same policy it has been for years.

It is important to note conversations in public forums are not private, two-way conversations. It is also important for those of us who provide help (or most of us anyway) that posters don't unknowingly do something illegal. And since we have no idea what the poster's skillsets, legal knowledge or intentions are, and since we know others are likely reading now, or may find these threads in the future via searches, it is important we point out things like this.

And it should also be noted that illegally used software is a major source of malware because many who use it, fail to keep it updated for fear of being detected. And once infected, it can become a threat against the rest of us when used to distribute malware via spam, or when used as zombie machines in bot-armies to launch DoS attacks.

Geesh, you are an old fart. '52 here.

ZDNet > Will BIOS-embedded Windows 8 product keys cause reinstall troubles?

CNet > Windows 8 moves to BIOS-based product keys
Product keys for Windows 8 computers aren't printed on a sticker. They're encrypted in the BIOS.

The Register > Microsoft tightens grip on OEM Windows 8 licensing
Factories will report directly to Redmond

Yep, old and proud of it. Get your colonoscopy yet? It's due at 50, and can save your life.

Ah! I see what you are saying. Gotcha. Thanks.
A couple times. Actually didn't mind it (being in never-neverland! ;)). It's 24+ hours of no solid food and the drinking of 10 gallons of laxatives the night before that makes it miserable.

That is true. But believe me, it's nothing compared to radiation and chemo.

No doubt. And if you've been through that, I hope all is good now. I have a family history of C on both sides so I definitely wish to detect early, if not avoid altogether.

Well, I have not personally had the experience but I sure did not enjoy going through it with both my mom and dad. And with my dad in particular, while it got rid of the cancer, it seemed he never recovered from the toll the treatments put on his body.

It takes a huge toll on the body. I hope your father gets better real soon. I'll keep good thoughts towards the positive for his full recovery and good luck to everyone involved especially your father.
