    Hi all,

I've been getting "urgent" messages to update my media player pop-up windows.

One is from "getyourplayer.com/update ". When I clicked it I was taken to "staple.officebusinessupplies.com ".

As you can see, it's "staple" not "staples ".

Anyway, when I was on the "getyourplayer" page I was able to block it in SeaMonkey 2.20. I did a little search and found that there was a "DSite" folder in AppData. I deleted it, but I don't know if it's going to pop-up again.

So, how do I add "staple.officesupplies" to the block site list?

It does sound like Malware/Spyware. You could also try Adblock Plus

I'm not familiar with Sea Monkey, but since it is a Mozilla product I assume the browser options are the same as FireFox?

If so, you can block staple.officesupplies buy clicking on Tools/ Options/ Privacy/ Use Custom Settings For History/ Exceptions. Then copy and paste the offending web site in the address box of the Exceptions - Cookies popup and select "block ". Then close you way out of there.

This should help, but I would post a thread in the Malware forum and post the required malware scans just to make sure there is no infection.

I've done 3 anti-spyware scans (MalwareBytes; SuperAntiSpyware; SpyBot Search & Destroy) and an anti-virus scan (Avast - updated automatically) and they all came up clean.

Unfortunately, although SM & FF are similar, there's no Options in Tools. In Preferences, I've clicked on just about everything (obviously not the right one). I clicked on Pop-Up windows and attempted to add "staple.officesupplies ", but it looks like it's asking for what type of permission to allow — not block.

    Any ideas?

Why not go with FireFox instead? It is the most customizable browser out there from my experience.

What are the main differences with FireFox and Sea Monkey anyway?

    Hi James,

I am using SeaMonkey. I like the e-mail client that comes with it.
