I just did so, and I still get the jumbled jargon. :(

Hi, Restore to a point prior to the problem or Delete FF and try another fresh install of FF. Neil.

    Thanks, Neil and Tony,

I can't restore to a point prior to the problem because I'll lose over a half-dozen programs I've installed since then. These are giveaways-of-the-day, full-featured software, and they can't be reinstalled after the day they're offered.

Also, I don't want to clear all history because I use it practically every day to go back to webpages I've visited but haven't bookmarked. This capability is very important to me in researching and following up on projects I'm working on.

But here's a workaround: instead of using Google search, which causes the problem, I use Yahoo! Search to go to the Google webpages -- and there is absolutely no problem. They show up fine. So the problem seems to be limited to using Google Search, which I don't mind giving up.

In view of this workaround, which works for me, I'd like to mark this thread as Resolved.

    Thank you for your help!

    Frank
