I have successfully installed Photoshop 7 on two Windows 7 HP 64Bit laptops but I can't get it to install on a third laptop. Clicking 'Run as Administrator' shows the spinning circle for a few seconds and then nothing. Task Manager shows nothing running in Applications or Processes. Checking the details for the setup.exe describes it as a 32-bit Setup Launcher. This didn't make a difference for the other 64Bit installs but thought I'd mention it anyway.

Yes I know PS7 is an oldie but it's all I need for my limited ability.

What operating system is the 3rd laptop running?

If Windows Vista or 7 then you may need to confirm a UAC dialog box; look on your taskbar for a yellow and blue sheild...

I already tried that. Even turned UAC off to see if that might start the install. No luck.

    :) You didn't answer my question...

I assume you've tried 'compatibility' mode? (In properties)

Your original post mention that two laptops were running Windows 7; it was unclear whether the third was also running Windows 7. So I wanted to make sure... :)

Anyway have you tried 'compatibility' mode?

Could you provide a screenshot of the 'general' tab of the properties window?

Hmm... As it installed in the other two Win 7 systems, the executable is fine... Your system should automatically use WOW64 when it sees that it's a '32-bit' file...

Once you have clicked the file no process is started, so the next thing to do IMO would be to see if it loads in Safe Mode...

That worked. Why would that be?

    WOOHOO! It worked :) :) :)

Does the application run normally in 'normal' mode?

It probably worked because in 'normal' mode a different process/program was conflicting with the setup file, happens sometimes. As Safe Mode is 'minimalistic', the process/program wasn't active/loaded...

Glad it worked out for you, don't forget to vote my above post as 'helpful'! (At the bottom) :)
