I am asking here instead of at logitech in case anyone knows of any windows settings or a registry hack i can use to accomplish what i need.

All i want to do is disable the side "back" and "forward" buttons. i hit them by accident way too often, and never use them anyway (ill use the browser buttons).

Installing setpoint does nothing, i cant see the mouse. all i can do with it is literally change any settings dealing with the actual program, not the mouse. so, this is useless.

Is there some method or hack i can use to just disable these side buttons???

    Thanks.

My microsoft mouse gives me 20 or more option on what to do when I use the side buttons one of which is "disabled. "

Have you googled the heck out of this?

the best i can find is that logitech no longer technically supports the product. But it still works.... and i still love it. I can only access basic windows options though, you know pointer options, speed, etc. just hte very basics.

So i didnt know if there was a windows workaround with some sort of a compatibility mode, or something?
