Has anyone noticed any audio playback problems on 3gp video files with VLC 2.0.6? I appear to be getting gaps in the playback (sometimes the playback is virtually inaudible).

QuickTime & VLC 2.0.5 work perfectly fine. I kept the 2.0.5 installer so I have reverted back to it. I hope they fix this in 2.0.7. I have experienced this with more than one computer so it isn't a system problem.

Hi Davezilla, I've just installed a new m/b (comp rebuild virtually) and installed VLC 2.06 and used it 3 times and it runs as smooth as.

Have you gone into their Help > FAQ's?
There's a lot of info in there which you might find useful.

You may need to make changes in the set up area. Neil.

I've posted on their site, but no one has answered me yet, although audio problems with 2.0.6 seem to be common. I've never had a problem with VLC before. I have installed MPC-HC & it runs 3gp files perfectly. I think MPC-HC is going to be a keeper.

EDIT: I have just discovered that MPC-HC won't play certain 3gp files that have been edited on the phone they were made on without sticking somewhat. QuickTime & VLC 2.0.5 still play them perfectly well. I have since uninstalled MPC-HC.

I hope that VLC can fix this bug in #2.0.7.

If you are happy with MPC-HC and don't want to proceed with VLC, would you please mark this as "Resolved ". Thanks Neil.

Been using 2.06 for the last week or more because VLC's browser plugin has some vulnerabilities and wouldn't work at some sites. No problems so far.

Can you post a link to a troublesome 3gp file?

OK, I don't think that I am going to get an answer, so this thread should be marked resolved. Which I will do as soon as I figure out how to do it.

Meanwhile, I have discovered that SMPlayer actually does play all of my 3gp files.

Thank you to everyone who tried to help. Hopefully, VLC will fix this bug in the #2.0.7. release.

Click "Thread Tools" right above your first post, on the right.

    Then select "... Solved ... ".

    FYI,

Just received a 3gp video from a friend which was filmed at our BBQ last Sat. VLC 2.06 doesn't play the audio correctly. Hopefully will be fixed in next release.
