TB allows you to customize the View file for the various folders in your account(s). It's an editable file located on the computer, but I can't remember where it's located or what it's called.

    Anyone know?

    JSS,

Thanks - I am not familiar with this "option ", but maybe "mailViews.dat" in the profile directory may be of interest. Other wise you may be able to find the file by doing a search in profile directory for a file containing a unique phrase/word thats in the customize dialog. ??

Thanks, Capt, that's exactly the file I need, but I couldn't remember its name or where it was located. It's something I rely on, especially when my inbox gets too full.

Unfortunately, the list's customize function won't let you re-order the list ... that has to be done with a text editor.

    JSS,

    Glad it helped some.

Not being a TB user, don't really know much about "customizing" the file. It seems to be there in SM also, I just never had reason to use it......

    regards:captjldd

Don't use TB, but can't you make other folders under your name (not the inbox) and move some of your inbox stuff to it?

    Bill...

I don't know about other mail clients, but TB provides five primary folders in a user's account ... inbox, drafts, sent, archives, and trash.

In an organizational layout that works for me I use just the five, but I have 58 folders and sub-folders in the archives folder, and 40 in the sent folder. (I'm a packrat, I'm afraid, and tend to keep many of the messages I receive, and most that I send ... I could, and should, move all but the most recent to a DVD-R, but I just haven't done it.)

Too often I don't move messages from the inbox to the archives folders/sub-folders as readily as I should, which is when the customized views on the View menu (maintained in the mailViews.dat file) come in handy.
