I searched for this topic---and didn't find it, But My "NEW" computer with Win-7 is Booting up to a "Temporary Profile "--90% of the time.. It will not
Boot to my Desk-top as I have it set up to do--- but loads a "Temp" one
and all of the Prgrams have to be Re-installed...

    Is this a Win-7 problem---or a Computer Problem..?????

Simple Terms Please.... I'm not a High Tech Person.... <G>;)

Your profile is corrupted. That can be a hardware problem (disk), but it could also have been caused by an incorrect shutdown or electrical issue.

Follow the instructions at Fix a corrupted user profile.

You don't have to reboot to change users. Click the Start button, click the arrowhead at the right-end of Shutdown and then select either Switch user, or Logoff.

    Temporary Profile

LOL Thanks... I knew I didn't state the Problem very well---being I am Not a Tech person... Its Not the "changing of Profiles" at all... It's when I "Boot up "---First thing every AM.... I get this little sign that says-- " "You have been logged on as a Temporary Profile and you can not access you files or Programs from It.. Please re-boot or wait and try to Log on at a later time "...

So I do---- Over and over and Over---trying to get to MY desktop and NOT the one they have given me as a "Temp "... The "HP" computer is less then a Month Old--and I haven't really Loaded a Lot of stuff on it (( 1.5 Gig HD. )).
This only started this Past Wednesday (5th) and I have already "Restored to a earlier Date "... Hoping that would rid me of the Enemy... ((But it hasn't))..

I'm beginning to feel---My Only option is going to be--do a Clean Re-Install, but there again---There is ONLY 4 Programs added to the Initial Set-up and they function Great..

My Last option tonight is Do a 100% "ChkDisc" and "Defrag "-- which will take over night... If tommrow it still is doing the same thing... I'll have to "Re-Install Factory ".. and all that Work---Cleaning Win-7 Of the Junk---is Gone..<G>

Thanks for the suggestion Tho... I do appreciate everyone's Help

You explained it fine - and I gave you the correct solution: Create a new profile & copy the contents of your old profile to the new.

    Temporary Profile

"Thanks" everyone for all your "helpful" hints.... But None of them Work..
I have spent 5-1/2 Hrs on "Tech Support" with HP---and they have agreed---
"The Hard Drive "---may be Corrupt...( from what---they do not know..)

Sooooooooo... I'm doing a Complete Back up to Flash drive---and will do a "Complete--Factory Re-Install" of Win 7... Sure hate to lose the "Clean-7 "---but that's life in the Big City--I guess..

If this doesn't work..... Its "remove and Replace" HD.. (( HP will do that--since it's still under Warranty.))..

THANKS again---and I appreciate your Assistance........

    Consider this one---- CLOSED....

As stated above... "MY" solution Worked..... "HP" replaced the Defective Hard Drive
and Now it works "properly "..

    Consider it a "Closed" issue.........
