Windows7 Home Edition 64bit. Checking the Registry - Internet Settings, I notice hundreds of www./.com/.net/.ru/.de etc. Many Web headings are of no use to me and some quite offending. I deleted all the titles that I did not want on my computer registry, spending considerable time removing titles.
However, later after a new session on the computer, discovered all titles that were deleted, again were displayed. Does IE renter these Web titles at each computer switch on? What steps are needed to erase titles permanently?

My sincere thanks for both replies. I fully agree that this list of hundred or more listed addresses, many appear to be entirely foreign. Problem is how to remove this list quickly and permanently. Location in Registry appears to be as follows:

    HKEY_Local Mchine> Software> Microsoft> Windows> Current Version> Internet Settings> 5.0.> List is then displayed-------

List appears to have been downloaded without my knowing or when this did happen.

    Further search has found :

    Add: HKEY_Local_Machine> Software> Microsoft> Windows> Current Version> Internet Settings> 5.0.> P3P> History> (listing Web addresses).

    HKEY_Current_User> Software> Microsoft> Windows_ Current Version> Internet Settings> P3P> History> (further list of .COM.

Further entries under new Registry checking:

    Zone Maps> Domains and

    WOW6432 Node> Microsoft> Windows> Current Version> Internet Settings> 5.0.> P3P> History. All entries show Reg DWord 0x00000004.

I note that 0x00000005 = blocked, if the current 0x00000004 is changed to
0x00000005, what would be the effect? What does 0x00000004 refer to?

Arie, your answer means entries are harmless and just take up space in the Hard drive.

I wouldn't know, because I only use Microsoft Security Essentials, so pretty sure its from one of the others.

Suggestion please as to how to check CCleaner and Malwarebyte. Both have no means to check of what is required regarding topic in question.
Would it be too drastic to remove information in the Registry?

In CCleaner under the Windows Tab, in the IE section, do you have a check mark in Cookies. Sounds like you don't.

Mr Bill, Cookies is unchecked as this interferes with Microsoft Essentials by unprotecting, this requires immediate scan. Dangerous, as without constant checks, leaves computer liable to virus infections.

It does not do that on mine. I just checked after I seen this post. I usually leave it unchecked, but checked it and did the CC thing and it didn't bother MSE.

CCleaner v Microsoft Security Essentials, this was discussed some months ago and you were envolved. Error never was solved, and to this day, error still pops when CCleaer is used.

SpywareBlaster and SpyBot Search and Distroy is not installed in my computer, but they were both some months ago. Removed titles as computer did act faulty.

    Regards.

Process Monitor may be help you zero in on the program causing the unwanted Registry entries to re-appear. It includes a tool that lets you monitor every Registry change and which EXE is making it.

SpywareDr, thank you for software that has been downloaded and saved. Suggestions! as to what I must look for now, as list appears to be large. On finding file(s), what is next step? Regards.
