What do you recommend for removing AOL and associated junk these days?

I've tried Revo but it won't do it. Google suggests a number of different tools but what's the most effective tool these days?

I've searched the forum and all the relevant threads are a number of years old.

I've already done that. Theres still a number of AOL apps left over though and there's no uninstaller for them.

What I need is a tool that'll get rid of all the AOL junk without an AOL uninstaller being involved in the process. I've already killed the startup bit using autoruns but I'd prefer to get rid of the lot. I even tried Revo in Hunter mode which usually works for most stuff but not this..... :(

Revo fails to get rid of it because there is no uninstaller for it to run in the first instance. I always use 4th option to fully clean a system anyway but it collapses immediately.

Hi Don. Normally when I'm faced with this same issue when having to uninstall AOL I just remove the software manually and then use a program like CCleaner to remove the remnants of the entries that are left in the registry.

I haven't been able to find anything on google either regarding an AOL uninstaller program so I normally just browse through the directories in My Computer and delete anything regarding aol that way.

Have you already deleted the entries for AOL manually or do you not know where they are?

Hi Evan. At least I'm not the only person that's hit this brick wall!!

No, I haven't tried the manual method yet as I was hoping that someone could have suggested a tool that would do the job cleanly. Like I said earlier, I've already killed the startup entry with autoruns and also a related startup registry key that doesn't appear to have had any side effects. It is on a client's computer which I'll be returning to tomorrow.

It certainly looks like it'll have to be the manual method now...

Do you need any assistance with removing the AOL software manually from your clients computer or is that something that you already know how to do?

No - I'll manage fine doing it manually. I was just hoping that there was a tool available that others had used and had success with.
