When I try to add an attachment to a message using TB 11.0 (current release), not only does the composition window close, but TB closes, also. This also happens in TB Safe Mode. This does NOT happen when using TB 13.0a2 (Earlybird).

Has anyone else run into this problem?

    TB is not my main
Mail program, but I have it, and check it, daily. And, I, rarely, send use attachments.
I composed a message from one account of mine to another one of mine, and I typed the premiss. I, then, selected a .jpg file to be attached. Only one thing happened. The box where the attachments go, showed up on the upper right. I, then, concluded the message, and sent it.

No problem here Jim. I just sent an attachment to my address and all went sweetly using TB 11.0. Cheers Neil.

I uninstalled TB 11.0 and reinstalled it, but the behavior is the same ... trying to add an attachment by means of the attachment button crashes the program.

Dragging an image file into the composition window adds it inline, rather than as an attachment. Dragging a document file doesn't add anything.

Fortunately, as I said in my original post, TB 13.0a2 doesn't exhibit the same behavior ... it behaves normally. I don't have 12.0b2 installed, so I can't check it.

Should I assume that you use two separate profiles for the two versions?

Of course ... separate, but identical.

As long as you use the same profile for the same version, there should be no issue. I was grasping for straws.

I finally resorted to completely uninstalling TB 11.0 and deleting the profile (after saving the Mail folder). After reinstallation I rebuilt the profile and replaced the new Mail folder with the saved one. Knock on wood, it seems to be behaving normally.

    Now using TB 11.0.1.
