    Hello guys,

I have a MSI MS-1454 laptop and for the past 1 1/2 years, we had a great time together. It helped me a lot in my studies and it served as my ultimate life dependence since I am a computer science student.

Together, we went through numerous difficult times, one of which is when my laptop experienced a shortened crown. Hardware problems are no hindrance to continue our journey, but all hopes started to fall down when my laptop experienced pain in its software.

Things started to change when I tried to download paint.net (a program much similar to microsoft paint, but with additional features). After the download is finished, I immediately started to open the paint.net installer. Imagine there is a progress bar indicating the condition of the installation. After a few minutes, the progress bar reached 100%, but it seemed like the installer failed to install paint.net properly. I searched the Program Files folder for paint.net, but it is nowhere to be found. All that's left of me was a laggy mouse pointer. Yes, my computer became laggy.

So I decided to reboot. After a few minutes, the laptop automatically started a start-up repair. In the first few minutes, I thought that it will take only a moment but to my surprise, the start-up repair lasted for 1 whole day! All it does is "Attempting repairs . . ." then a running progress bar at the bottom. When I tried to click the Exit or Cancel button, it says that the repair cannot be cancelled. THE REPAIR DOES NOT STOP, literally.

I tried to reboot this several times and even in Safe Mode, start-up repair always hinders the way to let me see the beauty of my desktop!

I tried several solutions from the internet, one of which is the use of the command prompt. None work!

Hopelessness is trying to eat my whole self as I reminisce the days with my working windows 7. My laptop is my best friend and I cannot accept a solution stating that I need to reformat my beloved OS and install a new one. No, I am not that adaptive to such sudden change in my life.

Please, I need your help. I am currently in an Internet Cafe typing this as tears roll down my eyes. I have 2 exams and 1 machine problem this coming week and I hardly need my laptop to be in a normal working condition again. I need to see the desktop. I need my laptop to view all the presentations and pdf files from professors. I need my laptop to make my machine problem that is due next week.

Please I have no money, I am a hipster, I am poor. So please don't tell me to buy a new OS. My laptop is my only treasure, it is a gift from my father. He earns a living just to buy me this laptop because he says I won't survive college without laptop. I love my father so much, and my mother too.

Sorry for being emotional, please help me. Thank you very much.

I pressed F8 so I arrived at the Windows Repair Environment. When I clicked on System Restore, it says it does not have any restore points. When I click on Start-up Repair, it does this annoying eternity repairing again.

Hi jrmeasures. You stated that you tried running some commands from Command Prompt. What were those commands that you used?

I know this may not change the situation but its worth a shot. When the computer boots up press F8 on startup to access the advanced boot options menu. When the menu appears scroll down and select Last Known Good Configuration and hit enter. Let me know if there is any change in the startup process.
