    1. since our scans determined that my problem was not a virus, I assume it was because of one or more of 3 programs I installed just before the problems started.

    2. One of these programs was Firefox.

    3. So I uninstalled Firefox.

    4. But there is one website that I have to go to for professional reasons. This website only accepts Firefox browser.

    I just installed an earlier version of Firefox-- 3.6. so I am testing to see if the problem was with a later version of the browser. If problem come up again, I will not be able to access the website.

    In this forum, we make sure, your computer is free of malware and your computer is clean :)
    Because the access to malware forum is very limited, your best option is to create new topic about your current issue, at Windows section.
    You'll get more attention.
