I have a web page I want to print.

    I press print screen.

Then go to MS Paint. and click paste.

The image comes out ok in Paint

But then I look at print preview, the image is split horizontally over two pages. This is how it would print.

I tried going into Images --> attributes in Paint and reducing the size of the image by half. But this only cuts off most of the image I need.

Does anyone have any suggestions about printing out a screen image?

I have seen that happen before and it prints fine. Not like the print preview shows.

Paste it into MS Word and see if you get better results.

MrBill: Unfortunately my experience is that it does print that way.

steve: I imported the printscreen image into Word but it only covers about 1/4 of the page, too small to be read as a document.

When in Word click on the image and click & drag on one of the corner 'handles' to enlarge to the size required.

I have found that this is not working,

however, when I click on the image when it is in word a tool bar appears called "picture."

On that toolbar is one icon called format picture. In it is a dialog box that has some options that can enlarge the image.

They are a bit quirky. For example when I try to raiise the top edge of the image, the bottom stretches down.

When I have pulled out the double arrow (that appears at the corner) toward the right, the left side of the image extends to the left and goes off the Word page.

In Word, double-click the pasted picture and then set the size you want under the Size tab?

Instead of going through all of that though, why not simply use File > Print while viewing the web page in your browser?

For image manipulation, the tool of choice is, of course, Photoshop. If you don't have it (or more likely can't afford / justify the cost of it) then a free alternative is The Gimp.

I found out that Paint.net is the Gimp.

The Gimp tries to get you to download some online games software along with the Gimp.

You can choose to decline this, but when you go to install Gimp, it just keeps installing and never completes. It should take a very short time.

I am not sure but it might be refusing to download because I declined to include the games software.

    Games software can include spyware.

Gimp appears, from the "system requirements" documentation, to require over 200 MB of hd.

Should it typically take a long time to download?

Where did you try downloading this at?

I just downloaded from here and no problems.

    Nope.

Rick Brewster created Paint.NET as a computer science senior design project during spring 2004 at Washington State University.

Spencer Kimball and Peter Mattis began developing GIMP in 1995 as a semester-long project at the University of California, Berkeley.

Yes, Paint.NET also depends on Microsoft's .NET Framework 3.5 SP1, which is automatically installed if it isn't already on the system.

PS - It also creates a System Restore point before it installs itself.

Because they need one another. Like buying a car with no wheels and expecting to drive it off the lot.
