I am using Windows Live Mail but I find that some of my recipients are not receiving sent emails so I have had to use an online server in those cases.

Could anyone recommend a good Free Software program that will sit well with Win7x64.

    Thanks amillion

I second what Steve has suggested. No need to look any further.

Use Gmail and all of your email, calendar, contacts are ALL available wherever you go.

Use yours, or someone else's: PC, Mac, Laptop, Netbook, Nettop, NetTV, Tablet, SmartPhone, etc., to login to your Gmail account and there's ALL of your email/calendar stuff. And it's always the same stuff, on any device, no matter where you might happen to be. :)

Also, when you use an email address directly associated with an ISP, (such as your-username@your-internet-service-provider.com), when you switch ISPs, you lose that email address. Your @gmail.com address is yours forever. :)

I do have a webmail which I do not find convenient for everyday use as with webmail one needs to be online.

    Sorry for not clarifying that.
Would Mozilla be considered "the best" alternative option ?

Do you get them back or do they just go to the big e-mail folder in the sky, never to be heard from again? I use WLM on 2 of my PC's and lots of friends do to. Never have I had a problem like this or any of my friends.

They go into nothingness and the only way I know they have not been received is when I verbally communicate with the intended recipient.
However, if I send from my online webmail... kellys.com different provider, then they receive them or I can write them up, send them to me on my webmail then forward them on from there.
As it is I am finding Windows Live Mail unreliable.

Do those people have anything in common in their address? Just wondering if maybe your ISP is blacklisted by them. Have a friend that lives in NZ and he could not send me anything, but I could send to him. He called up his ISP and it took them over 2 months to figure it out. He sent me the returns thru my G-mail account (which we used for the couple of months till they got it fixed) and I forwered them to my ISP. They said that his ISP was blocking them to me. Even though I could send to him.

I won't tell you what he calls them, but it must be a popular word in NZ. :D

Nothing common in their addresses at all.
I did not have this problem with Outlook Express under XP
Just want to find a reliable desktop Email software alternative and no one has come up with any other than Firefox......so maybe that's the way to go....just just wait a little for feedback or options.

You need to be online to send/receive email.

Firefox is a browser. Thunderbird is an email client.

FYI, you can use Thunderbird for all Webmail accounts as well as the ISP accounts.

I didn't know Firefox had an e-mail option.

Well things like blacklisting change all the time. Good one day, bad the next day. What did your ISP say about this when you called them or e-mailed them?

I'd wager to say that this is not because of the email client used. You are 'barking up the wrong tree' so to speak ;)

I also have a Windows Live Mail account and have had numerous problems with "them" blocking my contacts, allowing me to edit contacts etc. because I "violated" their conduct policy of sending email to multiple contacts that exceeded what they determined to be an acceptable limit ... (I never listed more than a dozen at a time .. might be that I don't have that many friends but that is another issue.) They do the most absurd things like block your account from editing existing emails for 30 days then allowing additional numbers... It is total BS and totally big brother... opinion follows.. allowing all of email and folders to go to "THE CLOUD" only lets the powers to be invade your business.... sorry but to the issue it could be as simple as WLM exercising censorship....just sayin'

I have never had this problem with WLM. I send sometimes to 55 or 60 people at a time. I can edit my contacts any time I want and have several times because somebody got a new e-mail addy, phone number or moved someplace else. Must be another problem.

Why did you give up on Thunderbird?

I use Thunderbird as I go through 100+ emails a day and need to reliably archive many of them.Since we use both XP (Outlook Express) and Win7 64 (on different computers) and both Outlook Express and Thunderbird use 'eml' as their extensions, we can transfer and open or modify the mail wherever we want.

We used MS Office Outlook foe awhile and it was fine but a lot more than what we needed. If you have access to MS Office, you might try it.

Webmail is great but it's nice to be able to access your documents (email) without being online.

Yo, clitwin13.............. I agree with your comment on 'big brother', et al. Though I 'travel' all over via the internet, I do not trust Live or Cloud anything. Eventually I guess I'll be stuck using them but it will be as a last resort.
