I send out an announcement letter every week to several people who are listed as Bcc's. I send the letter to myself and my browser is Seamonkey. When I go traveling I would like to write a letter to the same people using a laptop computer. Is there a way to transfer that list of Bcc's to my laptop which uses Thunderbird without physically copying the names? I tried forwarding the sent email but the list of names is not transferred.

If the addresses are in the Contact list - you can export them off one machine and import them to the other. (most of the time this will work)

But I'd think you should be able to copy them from the mail in the sent folder and paste the address to the body of an email and send it to the other pc.

I already have copies of the address book on my laptop. But the Bcc's amount to about 100 and I don't feel like looking up all those names every time. I'm just lazy.

If I'm understanding correctly, you just want to be able to click once and all the addresses are added to a message in the BCC field.

Have you tried setting up a "distribution list "? I don't use Seamonkey but that's what some clients call it. Others call it a mailing group. It's basically a subfolder in the address book.

You set it up, name it what you want, add the desired addresses once, save it and then you just send the message to that group.

How to set it up should be in Seamonkey's help files or somewhere online.

Create a template by composing a message to that group and use CC instead of BCC. Then save it as a dfaft. Then save the draft as an eml. Open the eml on the laptop.

You can now rt click and add the addresses to a group or list. Or just change the CCs to BCCs.

How do I transfer the eml to my laptop? I can not send this email or everyone who is cc'd will receive it.
    Thanks.

I saved the letter with all the Bcc's as a template on my desktop. When it is opened it shows all the Bcc's. I will now attach this file to an email which I will send to my laptop. I can then copy all the Bcc's into a new email.
    This seems to work.
Thank you all for your help.

On the laptop, open the message and then save-as > template. That way you'll always have it to reuse.

I still have a problem because I have no idea how to use the template in Thunderbird, even though it is all set up with the list of Bcc's. Can anyone tell me how to use it? I don't seem to be able to type a message or subject.
    Thanks.

My above suggestions won't work, I just tested to be sure.

In Thunderbird, which is likely same as Seamonkey, to do what you want, just export your address book and import them into the laptop address book.

Next open the address book and use File Menu > New > List and give it a unique name.

Press the Control key & drag+drop addresses into the new list.

    Hi Tony,
I could not get it to work either. I have already imported the address books and wanted to save time by not having to use them.
This is what I finally did.
I managed to copy the Bcc's and send the list by email to my laptop. I then opened it in Thunderbird and swiped, the addresses into an email I was composing on Thunderbird. I had 89 address to swipe but in some case I could insert 4 at a time so it was not so bad.
Anyway, the task is done and I thank you for your help. Every one of these things is a learning experience so I do not feel I wasted any time. Besides I'm retired :)

You still should take 3 minutes and make a dedicated List in the address book. That way, sending in the future will take 1 click to add the addresses.
