    [Inactive] DNS Lookup failed

This is from a Dell Inspiron 6400. One day it stopped being able to open a browser wirelessly. It doesconnect. It shows good signal strength. It opens a browser fine when an ethernet cable is attached, but wirelessly, it won't do it. I notice that the wireless connection is disappearing intermittently as well. Every conceivable setting has been messed with. There were a few moments where it worked all of a sudden, then it wouldn't. I feel like the person I let use this contracted a virus that may have upset the registry. I'm talking beyond my competence here. WINSOCK was run, everything.
Many virus/malware programs have been run. A couple of microsoft techs ran a couple of their own choice as well. One was Viper I remember. I had them Easy Assist and they couldn't figure it out. I read this on Microsoft Tech:

Click Start, click Run, type Msinfo32, and then click OK.
Expand Components, expand Network, and then click Protocol.
You will have ten sections under Protocol. The section headings will include the following names if the Winsock2 key is undamaged:
    MSAFD Tcpip [TCP/IP]
    MSAFD Tcpip [UDP/IP]
    RSVP UDP Service Provider
    RSVP TCP Service Provider
    MSAFD NetBIOS [\Device\NetBT_Tcpip...
    MSAFD NetBIOS [\Device\NetBT_Tcpip...
    MSAFD NetBIOS [\Device\NetBT_Tcpip...
    MSAFD NetBIOS [\Device\NetBT_Tcpip...
    MSAFD NetBIOS [\Device\NetBT_Tcpip...
    MSAFD NetBIOS [\Device\NetBT_Tcpip...

If you have a third-party add-on installed, the name of the add-on will replace the letters "MSAFD" in the list.

If there are more than ten sections in the list, you have third-party additions installed.

If there are fewer than ten sections, there is information missing.

I have 20 sections on my list. Many of those "MSAFD NetBios..." Don't know what that means though.

    Hi Finder5,

Read this post, as indicated at the top of this forum, then post the requested log(s).

Once done a Malware Analyst will come along to assist when available.

I'm not sure how this is malware related.

Did you try to reinstall wireless adapter driver?

    Well, if I see this:

I'd first want to check for Malware before just trying anything.

Hi Broni, my quip about a virus has sparked a discussion over the proper forum; that's my fault. I don't have any Malware in there that I know of. Malwarebytes, Viper, Kaspersky and Superanti were run. In any case, I have tried reinstalling/updating the adapter driver.

    I'd suspect falling wireless chip.
Probably the fastest way to find out would be to buy USB wireless dongle and see if it works.
