This has been my favorite e-mail provider for years, but I am facing an upgrade deadline soon, and I was wondering if Yahoo's classic e-mail is being phased out.

Any complaints about the newer mail service?

Yahoo is not my main e-mail account but what I have seen of the new Yahoo I like better than the Classic. I don't use a lot of the bells and whistles but it appears more organized to me.

It appears Yahoo classic mail is not dead, yet.

I voiced my displeasure at the newer service, so Yahoo stopped the mandatory upgrade notices.

I am *not* someone that engages into social networking, and I believe the newer Yahoo mail was geared for it (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

How does the upgrade process work?

Did you have to download and install anything?

    James,

I don't recall the exact process to "upgrade" to the newer Yahoo mail. Best I remember I was given an option on a start up screen and I opted to accept it. Nothing to download or install.

I helped a friend switch back to the Classic a few days ago. Just web search "Yahoo Classic E-Mail" and you will find any number of links - several YouTube videos as well. http://www.google.com/search?aq=f&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=yahoo+classic+email

I have been using yahoo mail for years ,I usually have a fit when things change.
At first the new email was maybe. but it is really not bad.
I like the email opening in a (tab ) I guess. Much easier for opening and closing
email's. Have had no problems with other stuff (facebook and other's) as they stay silent
unless you what to use them.
Is easy to configure ,so far.
    Hope this helps some.

    Thanks all.

I'll weigh my options and make a decision soon.
