Resolved can't open pdf files in internet explorer

I got contacted by a friend saying they couldn't open a pdf file from their webpage at http://www.illuminart.net/rr/ldc.php . They were using internet explorer. I opened it in firefox, internet explorer and seamonkey with no problems. I moved the pdf files, changed the names and the links to them. They still say they won't open for them, ie says it can't display the webpage.
Could someone look at it and let me know if they can open the files or not.
I have suggested they clear their cache in case there was something there stopping it from opening. I can't think of a reason why I can open it and they can't. Any suggestions?

Opens fine here ataxia, does your friend have a pdf reader installed?

I recommend Foxit Reader but Adobe's PDF reader should work as well.

 

Hi wildfire, Thank you for checking it. Yes there are many pdf files on that site and they seem to be able to open the rest. I have opened them in an editor and resaved them as pdf's to make sure there wasn't some problem with the file. I just can't think of any reason they have the problem when everyone else can open them.

Ataxia, can you let us know which PDF doesn't open?

I've tried both from the link you provided without issue (using FF and Adobe).

 

They say they can't open either of them. I have asked if they have any problems with any of the others on the site (no answer yet). It had opened in a new window and some of the others didn't so I took that out. I downloaded and installed google chrome and checked it with that too. I have asked if there problem was site wide or just with that page and am waiting to hear back.

Hi PeteC, Well I didn't have many details and still don't have many. I can't find a problem so I suspect it is on their end. I have asked them questions and am waiting for some answers.

 

They say they can open other pdf files on the site so it seems to be just that page.

 

Both files open OK with Foxit down here. Have your friends tried opening the web site again (fresh) to see if there was a script problem? Cheers Neil.

 

Hi retiredlearner, It appears it may be something with their network. I sent them both pdf files and asked if they could open them locally, I also asked them to try from home as people from around the world can open them. Hopefully they will get back with me by Monday.

Thanks to everyone who replied. I don't believe there ever was an actual problem except on their end. I suggested they try from home and I sent the files for them to try locally and all I got from them is it works now.
