I've spent hours trying to solve this, without success, and I've given up on doing it on my own. Hopefully, I can get some support on this forum :)
So, untill recently, I've been connecting to internet through ethernet cable. But, now that I have a Netgear wireless router, it can't get any internet access. I can connect to router perfectly, but can't open any web sites.
I've set it up like this:
ISP >> Modem >> Router >> Laptop, and I can connect to usual DSL connection, but not to wireless connection ( at least, not with internet access).
I'm really confused now and really don't have much experience in this field....help would be highly appreciated :)

Did you set up a wireless connection on the laptop?

    1. What DSL ISP?
    2. What DSL modem? (brand, model number)
    3. What model + version Netgear wifi router?

In order to use a router with a DSL modem, the modem must be placed into what's known as "Bridged Mode." Then the router must be configured for PPPoE connection.

Your ISP can walk you through putting the modem in Bridged Mode, either via phone or via their Website. Best to call their tech support.

The reason you cannot connect to the Internet using your current setup is because you are using 2 routers. The DSL modem is also a router. Bridged mode shuts off the DSL modem router functions.

    1. ISP: Bihnet (here in Bosnia)
    2. Modem: Thomson Speedtouch 546i v6
    3. Router: Netgear DG834G v2

I've set modem to bridge mode, and router to PPOE, but it still isn't working.

Some of the laptops for the last couple of years had a button on the front near the left side that you had to turn the wireless card on. Does your have it?

Your ISP should have a guide at their site for using a router with their modems.

Have you called their tech support?

I'm not being lazy about your problem. I cannot read the docs at their site due to language, and translators don't work well with your language.
