    Hey everyone ! :]
Just got home from school and turned on my laptop.. It made me do the start up tests things to see what errors my laptop had. The result said "unspecified changes to system configuration may have caused the changes. ". I have no idea what that means. Then it let me log on normally.. I was very excited about this because it seemed to now be working properly.

Then i wet to open chromium and it says, "unable to connect to the internet because its not connected."
So then when i go to see my wireless networks to connect to it says "no connection are avaliable."

So then i went to network and internet under my control pannel.
I did the troubleshoot and it says " the windows service is not running on this computer ". But it doesnt say why or how to fix it.

I dont understand . It was all working fine 8 hours ago before i went to school?
Can anyone help me? sorry if this has a lot of spelling errors- im writing this all from my iphone haha.

PS - I have windows 7 . My laptop is ASUS model K52F.

Thank youuuu for even reading/ anyhelp. :)

Edit: I tried holding down fn and f2 to see if i somehow turned the wifi off - that didnt help.

    Hi,
I am familiar with Networking and WiFi but far from an expert. However, since it's a Laptop issue you are referring to I wanted too pass along to you when a similiar problem happened to me. I gently was wiping down my keyboard and little did I know, at the top of my keyboard are several lights and one of them is my wireless connection. If you have a similiar keyboard, and you have that WiFi light, press on it once and try your connection...Keep us posted.

    Hi DrummerChick, Welcome to WindowsBBS.:)

I hope you haven't caught a nasty when you last used your laptop. I would try a System Restore to see if it brings back your Internet connection.
Have you run your AV scan to check for problems? Cheers Neil.;)

    thanks for responding :]
i ended up just restoring (not sure if thats the right term) my whole laptop,
so basically is it back to the settings as if i just had turned it on for the first time.. and it worked!
I hope it doesn't happen again.
Ever since limewire is gone.. i have been using torrent to download music, do you think i should stop doing that? haha.

Also - I think my C drive has an issue but im not sure... Since my laptop is like new and there are almost no picture/programs on it now..
is it normal for me C drive to say that it has 49.9 GB free of 72.6GB.
Should it be almost all free?

Nice to see a Restore has brought it back to new.
I'm wary of Limewire as I saw reports about 3 or 4 years ago about Malware and Viruses invading comps using Limewire.
You need to ensure your AV software is doing it's job when you're surfing around and Downloading.
You need to go Right click My Computer > Manage > Disk Management and see if your HD is partitioned. It may not be set to full capacity. Neil.

    1. Windows 7 with Micrfosoft Office and a few additional programs will consume almost 20 GB of hard drive space.

    2. Don't use Limewire or any other peer to mpeer file sharing programs, for several reasons:
    a. illegal downloads are illegal, don't break the law
    b. viruses & malware are common on these networks

    3. If want more music, rip the music from purchased CDs. You can share CDs with friends and vice-versa. That may not be entirelky legal but you won't get viruses.

    4. Torrent networks are as dangerous as Limewire.

I used to use Limewire all the time. I have no idea why I did, but I got all kinds of stuff. I got so many viruses and it caused all kinds of havoc on my PC. Thankfully I stopped using it and deleted everything because I didn't know what was causing the problems.
