Are you trying to copy something to the DVD or from the DVD?

You shouldn't need any special program either way.

Is it the OEM version ? OEM version is severly limited but would copy disks as per this forum discussion.

You seem to be missing some step.

SVEN, DVD Shrink does NOT copy dvd/cd. Its a video disk copying tool that downgrades the quality so that you can shrink 9 GB film into standard 4.5 GB DVD.

    rsinfo,
true, you can do that, but you also can strip all the stuff you don't want or need and if you have a DVD-DL disk and burner it will not shrink anything but will burn 100% of the movie. I have used it for years and even if it shrinks the movie, the picture quality is still very good.

But Sven , the question was about copying a dvd with Roxio 9 [not necessarily a movie dvd]. That has still not been cleared.

If somone talks about a dvd, I allways think movie. What else would it be? There is no problem copying a data DVD, only movie dvd give you problems while copying.

Roxio would do fine. You don't need any other program.

Run Roxio & follow the prompts to copy the dvd.

Try using BurnAware Free instead of Roxio if it can't detect your cd/dvd drive.

    Roxio 9 Copy DVD

I use Easy Media Creator 10 of Roxio and have used other older versions of Roxio before. YES, you should be able to.
Just check a few things to make sure the Roxio is recognizing your DVD Reader. First, check Device Manager to make sure the DVD Reader/ Writer is functioning OK. Next, in Roxio menu. Check the various options in menu Item TOOLS/ Options to see that Roxio is recognizing the DVD drive. Of course you also need to just try to play that DVD on your computer to make sure that the DVD TYPE is playble on your PC.
Assuming all of these checks out OK, then after a few seconds of putting that DVD in to the reader, you should see that COPY button on top right turn yellowish when you put your mouse cursor on it. When that happens, just click it, and it will start the copy process, and it will ask you to insert the blank disc when it is ready to write on to a blank DVD.
    Hope this helps.
