Resolved recycle icon disappeared

    My recycle bin icon has suddenly disappeared from my desktop and I can't locate it or the recycle bin. Windows 7 is driving me crazy. Things suddenly disappear for no apparent reason. Any suggestions will be most appreciated.

    Right click on the desktop and in the menu, select personalize. In the window that opens click the link in the upper left part of the window that says change desktop icons. Make sure the box next to Recycle Bin is checked.

    Hi Zandor: I followed your advice and checked the recycle box but nothing happened after pressing ok. I then restarted the computer and still can't get the icon back on desktop. I can't empty it. After going into personalize I went into change icons and the recycle box was unchecked. I ticked it on and then pressed "ok ". I then went out and rebooted. No result. Should I have done something else?

    How did you get the Recycle Bin back?

    Would be nice to know for future references in case someone else runs into the same problem..............

    recycle bin found

    I recovered the bin by following the suggestions posted in answer to my original query. For some reason, the recycle bin box became unchecked.
