I know Microsoft Works has been discontinued, but is it still safe to use or will there be like several security flaws at this point?

I'd say use on at your own risk. An outdated program is always a security risk, since it is never updated they have unlimited time to exploit it without any disruptions.

I'm not aware of any special Works security-flaws, but if used, run it as a regular user with restricted privlegies, or run it in a virtual PC without any network connection. Atleast thats what I would do.

Works 9 is the version compatible with Windows 7 - I use the database facility regularly and have done so since the days of 95.

It is as secure as any other program - in fact this Patch Tuesday's updates had a Security Update for Works 9.

    Where you hear that?

    Obviously not the case.

Mainstream support for Works 9 ends 09/10/2012.

Microsoft still offerers it from their Web site.
