Resolved XP wants to install same updates all the time

    Hi

    I'm using Windows XP SP3.
    Recently I've been prompted by Windows that new updates are available.
    The problem is that after installing those updates Windows keeps on alerting that new updates are available and the same updates appear again.
    No matter how many time I install those updates Windows still wants me to update them again.

    I found this post on another forum which contains some good advise. The most common problem is your anti virus getting in the way. Follow this and let us know if it works.

    Post the last 75 lines from the WindowsUpdate.log.

    To open this log, go to Start > Run and type

    %windir%\WindowsUpdate.log

    and press OK.

    If you have software that requires it, it'll prompt you for it when you try to run it.

    Why? No need if he doesn't have software that needs it.

    No. Update is nagging because it's an update to .NET framework. I suggested to uninstall the whole lot!
