XP Home edition, sp2, HP machine, 512 memory.
Sound and graphics are built-in on the MB.

System will bootup but after only a few minutes (5-10) it
will just re-boot itself. The CPU heat sync was dirty so i
used compressed air and blew it out.

I have run MBAM, CCleaner, Disk Cleaner, and ATF Cleaner
MBAM did not finish because of re-boot.

At this point i dont know if its hardware or software.
    Suggestions?
    thanks,
    savagcl

    Hi savagcl

To be honest I'm thinking a heat issue (or perhaps memory) either way it's hardware not OS related (In my opinion).

Does booting in safe mode make any difference?

Can you run a fan next to the open case and see if that helps (obviously this is not your main system so I'm guessing here Laptop/desktop would help :))

Can you change memory and see if that helps?

    Hi Wildfire,

Its a desktop, around 4/5 years old. The owners are a "lot"
older than the system so i'm trying to help them. They really
can't afford to get a new system altho it may come to that.

No extra memory is handy (PC2700).
I can try a fan but isnt there a program that will show up
on-screen then i could monitor how hot it gets.

Never did like sound/graphics on the MB.

    thanks,
    savagcl

Perhaps there is ;) but it would help to know the system specifications... The link I've supplied is generic but post the results anyway.

Well, there it it (again). The couple decided to buy a new PC.

Never did find out what was broke.

    Sorry to waste your time.
