    Hello - All,
Having problems with thunderbird in win7-64bit....
The first installation went fine...could send and receive mail OK..SO, it works.
NOW-after getting my email setup in my xp system for the win7 box..
Someone told me to have a " " "fresh empty" "" copy, nothing in the profile to mess things up...NOW-I can't install TB....response: TB is running, close all open apps???
Where is TB hung up? HOw can I determine where....Nothing in task mgr...Is there a cmd entry...I've tried several but none display TB..Some have suggested services.msc??? No programs run there, just windows services?
    msconfig....no help..
    Help/suggestions greatly appreciated!!
    John in Dallas.

    What does that mean?
How many computers do you have and which one has issues?

And what does this mean-> Fresh Empty???
Did you do something to make a fresh empty and if so - hat did you do?

    Hello - All,
All your help here was most appreciated...HOWEVER, the reason TB wouldn't close, and remain open, it was trying to fine my profile?? Which it couldn't....therefore, saying is was running.
Found on a TB forum,,,delete the profile.ini....Tb will create a new one...it did. all is well in tb land....
    Thanks / John in Dallas.

    Hello - All,
Now that I've solved the TB problem....There's always another one, right!?
All the programs, setups, etc. were done in administrator acct. the same as in XP....Most programs carry over to standard acct. as set up in admin. acct.???
    They do in XP.
Now, I don't have my TB available in standard acct. says it's ((( still running? )))
I'm surely NOT deleting my profiles.ini again, that will destroy all my work in admin. acct.??
Everything is running perfectly in admin. acct. But, it's a hassle to jump back and forth, between accts. TB should have set up correctly when I fixed the profiles.ini while IN admin. acct. right?
Are things different in win7 ? One shouldn't be working in admin. acct. as suggested by MS in XP, they do the same in win7.
    Thanks for suggestions.
