Your BIOS stays updated even when you reinstall Windows, so no worries there.

We want a BSOD-free system before installing more drivers, so let's disable gdrv.sys and see if your PC is stable so far:

Download/save http://live.sysinternals.com/autoruns.exe somewhere and run it as Administrator (with right click).

On the Driver Tab, un-check the box beside gdrv, then restart Windows.

gdrv wasn't in the list. Didn't install Gigabyte's Dynamic Energy Saver Advanced this time around..

I tried to find a way to save the list of drivers..

That's different language versions. Download the one which has the language version of your Windows 7. If your language is not available, it will default to english.

All I know is that everyone need the Display Driver but not everyone need the OpenCL Driver. I guess that it may have something to do with games or video.

I would never ever do an automatic BIOS update connected to the internet from a running operating system. So many things can go wrong that I'd rather shoot myself in a foot.

I haven't found any use for the On/Off Charge and have not installed it.

Windows Automatic Update can be turned off. I'm not on a W7 computer right now but you'll find the spot, somewhere in the Control Panel.

I always download on another computer or on the actual computer but prior to reinstalling and transfer to an USB-stick. I do that with everything (including updates to Windows and Office) that I need to avoid connecting to the internet prematurely.

    ... :) ...

That's really odd since you got that gdrv.sys stop error. Maybe you could search your PC for gdrv.sys and look at the file properties?

I never seem to find files searching with the Windows GUI so I use the command line. Open a cmd window and try this command:

    dir \gdrv.sys /s

Note the space after dir and sys and that the first slash is a backslash but the second is a forward slash.

Then you can hunt down the files you find in File Explorer and right-click them to get properties.

I believe Fred is referring to both installations, the previous one and the current one (reinstall with downloaded drivers). If I'm right, I suggest that we forget the previous one ... ... and focus on the current one.

Exactly, I didn't install the program that had caused that on the previous install. I chose the first Ati CCC and it seems fine! No errors on install nor on reboot.

Ah, thanks; I didn't get that there was a new installation since the post #37 at 10am and figured the driver might be part of the chipset drivers

    Sorry Fred!

One shouldn't make any assumptions and "TN...U.S." doesn't automatically mean that your native language is english. However, english is included in all those driver versions.

    Excellent ... :) ... !

This came from a Windows Update..

.NET Runtime Optimization Service (2.0.50727.4952) - Version or flavor did not match with repository: Microsoft.Security.ApplicationId.PolicyManagement.Cmdlets

I may have found info on that one, now I see this one..

The driver \Driver\USBSTOR failed to load for the device USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0FF9\HT9BBHG06916.

Is it possible that this error is from having usb phone charger usb cord plugged in?

This one came up last night. Not a BSOD, but an error...

The shadow copies of volume C: were aborted because the shadow copy storage could not grow due to a user imposed limit.

The shadow copy storage is for the system restore points. This will give you a guide to delete all but the most recent, you could even turn it off until you have the system fully operational and then create a new restore point and delete all others. Not sure why this error comes up as when the space reserved is full it should delete old files to make room, maybe it has some corrupted files in it, perhaps Christer can answer that.

You found the answer for the first error?

For the second one, have a look in Device Manager and see if you can find something with the Yellow triangle next to it. The system has tried to load a driver for something and failed. Apart from that is everything else working OK.

First one I read in a few different places it could have been an issue with a windows update and that it should go away.

Second one, I looked in the Device Manager and no exclamations. When I plugged my phone so it would charge ( Droid) , it mentioned that it failed to find and load a driver.

I deleted old backups. Christer, are you talking about Norton Ghost? I had used that on much older machines, but it only restored them so many times than it failed to read from the disk.....could have been many different reasons.

Yes, trusted old Norton Ghost 2003. It has only failed me once and I blame myself. I created and Image which didn't pass the integrity check. I had skipped a few preparatory steps but when I was more thorough (deleting temp files, internet history, defragmenting, etc.) prior to the next attempt, no problems. With a few tricks, it also works with Windows 7-64.
