Could you be a whole lot more specific please.

Tell us about when the cursor is there there and when it leaves you. What steps do you do to get it back.

Control Panel->Mouse has an option to "Hide While Typing" but I'm guessing you've already looked there...

Was it Forrest Gump who said, "Clever is as clever does "?
    Sometimes I'm an idiot.
You seem to have nailed it, Steve.
Isn't it nice when problems are solved so easily?
    Thx Steve. :)

I was wrong, that didn't solve it. The cursor's gone again. I go into Yahoo mail and sometimes the cursor is there and other times it's not. Not much else I can say.
Hide pointer while typing is unticked.

What happens if you click in the body of a new mail and start typing? Do the letters you type show up?

I believe it has to do with Yahoo code. There's probably a javascript to "hide cursor" that fires when composing or replying. On my Firefox, when composing, I can tab into the message box and the blinking cursor is visible. But as soon as I type it's gone and most of the time it never returns. Makes it hard to know where I will be typing next, esp when I want to edit what I've typed, I can't see where the focus is.

It's also a problem with how some versions of Firefox handle scripted textareas. The F7 key will put back the cursor. We are not alone.

Steve, Yes, I get what I type, but like Tony is saying, I don't see a cursor. No way to know where I'll type next (when editing).

Tony, It's just as you described.
It never happens here, or anywhere else - only when in Yahoo email. And it never happened until I went to Win 7.

It happens on my Linux with FF version 3.6.9, XP & Win7 too.
    Does F7 bring it back?

Seems pretty clear and to the point to me. What exactly on that page don't you understand?

No, no. Not that I didn't understand it. Yes, it was clear. I was just expecting something more - that's all.
I'm any event I've been using the F-7 key since you suggested it and it's done the trick.
    Thx Tony. :)

All of a sudden the F-7 key has no effect on the cursor. The cursor is either there or not. Pressing F-7 does nothing.
    What's up w/ this?
