Allright after OTL was removed it installed a few updates (12) and now i looked in installed updates and some of them still remain failed. Computer is faster thought and i downloaded FH and all my programs are up to date. I read the topic about infections and i was infected by p2p and cracking so i won't be doing that again. The appearance still remains a problem and the important vista updates, otherwise the PC is fine. What is SP2? I don't have a program like that. From your old reply it seems important.

Is it possible to install the updates manually from microsoft? Should i do that? Maybe if i install a important vista update it could work again

Sorry for so many unnecessary posts but i come up with new stuff all the time...
SP2 it is windows service pack2 isn't it? I downloaded it cause MSE said it needed it to update. Heres the site i downloaded it from: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...06-2431-4d00-afa3-99ff6f22448d&displayLang=sv, is it the right one?

    Sorry for coming late here.
    It's been a long day.

    ...as Arie said :)

Try very same method with other updates, which don't want to install.
Download single files from MS site and install them one at a time.

Please open a new thread in the Vista forum, and post the details from the 'catastrophic failure'... you should be able to click on the link for details.

Since your computer is malware free, I'll mark this thread as resolved.
    Please, continue in Vista forum.
    Good luck :)
